Biography
Črt’s Story
Črt Lasbaher has been playing the piano since he was 7 years old. As a young
pianist, he took part in various competitions and masterclasses. After successfully
passing the entrance exam in orchestral conducting, he began his studies with Prof.
Marko Letonja, Prof. Simon Dvorsak and Prof. Marko Hribernik in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
In December 2017 he conducted the premiere of the children' s opera Hobit with 7
repetitions in Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana. He also continued to play the piano actively
and participated in international competitions in Niš, Serbia in the piano four-handed
and solo categories (2018, 2019 and 2020). He premiered two minute operas composed
by his fellow composers (F. Lo Pinto and M. Romih) in Budapest, Brno and Ljubljana.


Since October 2020, he has been in the conducting class of Prof. Johannes Wildner at
the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He completed the Master' s
degree programme at the Academy of Music Ljubljana in July 2022. Since October
2022 he continues to study with Maestro Andres Orozco-Estrada.
His first public appearance as a conductor was in Bucharest in the year 2013 with the
Romanian National radio symphony orchestra as a part of a masterclass held by
Professor Wolfgang Dörner from Graz. In November 2021 he participated in the
masterclass with Prof. Yu Feng from the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing. With
Donizettis opera buffa, L' elisir d' Amore, he celebrated his opera debut in the Slovenian
national theatre in January 2022. In July 2022 he took part at the Wiener Schule
conducting masterclass and competition where he reached semi-finale and conducted in
the prestigeous Wiener Musikverin (Brahms Saal). He conducts and assists different
Orchestras such as: BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic, Sofia
Philharmonic, RAI Symphony Orchestra, Pro Arte Orchestra Vienna, National theatre
orchestra in Ljubljana… Among others, he worked together with Andres Orozco-
Estrada, Simon Krečič, Marco Guidarini, Martyn Brabbins, Vladimir Kiradjiev,
Giuseppe Finzi and Vittorio Parisi. Since September
2022 he is conducting different masses from Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and Beethoven
with a church choir in Grinzing in Vienna. From the 2024/25 season he is chief conductor of the Stadtorchester Pressbaum in Austria.
